The team at CSW believes in investing in and supporting organizations that help to better our Kansas City communities. So, when Kari Tripses, Donor Manager for Habitat KC ReStore, approached CSW to help with countertops at their newest ReStore in Lenexa, KS, the decision to help was an easy one.

Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City has opened its fifth ReStore location in Lenexa.

About Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City has opened its fifth ReStore location in Lenexa. This newest ReStore is located inside a 56,000 square-foot building at 9605 Dice Lane. Tripses of Habitat KC ReStore, said this location is the fourth largest ReStore in the country. ReStores are open to the public offering items you would normally find at a big box home improvement store but at deeply discounted prices. They also accept donations of gently used items from businesses and individuals.

Area Contractors Working Together

The breakroom in the ReStore Lenexa, KS location is used by employees and volunteers. It is the meeting room for gatherings, dining, and of course, much needed breaks. To get this area ready for use, cabinets, appliances, flooring, and of course, countertops would be needed. Area businesses, including Schloegel Design & Remodel, Shamrock Cabinets, and CSW were contacted and asked if they would be willing to donate products and services.

The team at CSW stepped in to help, templating, fabricating, and installing quartz countertops. Graham Power, with CSW, coordinated the work to be done. “Graham is great to work with,” states Tripses. “As with any remodel, timing is key. Graham worked with our other contractors to make sure the countertops fit the area and were installed as scheduled. The results are beautiful!”

Donations at ReStore

ReStore sells gently used furniture, appliances and building materials at a discounted price. Tripses estimates roughly 80% of ReStore inventory comes from donations. Proceeds from ReStore help Habitat for Humanity provide affordable housing solutions for local families.
