Why would a countertop company that fabricates and installs custom countertops want to publish an article about being on cutting edge?
Because, the management team at Canaan Stone Works believes in reinvesting in equipment and technology. The team is focused on continually improving quality, capacity, and process that ultimately delivers the best quality product at the most competitive price. The practice of reinvestment, training, and process evaluation is positioning CSW as one of the top fabrication and installation countertop companies in the industry.
You may remember the article on New Addition | A One-Ton Bouncing Baby Crane. New additions and updates continue for this quality conscious fabrication and installation countertop company.
In January, the team at CSW began the installation and training for the new Donatoni Jet 625 CNC. This Donatoni machine comes with a cutting edge technology brain. The basic description for this is an intelligent system of work management. The more technical aspect of this Jet 625 is a 5 interpolated axes Computer Numerically Controlled, (CNC), bridge mill, with Z axis stroke of 400mm, rotating blade head swiveling from -5 to +365 degrees and tilting from 0 to 90 degrees, performing orthogonal cuts up to 200mm. This provides the ideal technology for performing oblique, circular and elliptical cuts for almost all types of shaping.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3j9AgxPPYlU&w=560&h=315]
“This new equipment allows us to cut granite and other stone material much more precisely and efficiently,” stated David Ware, Production and Installation Manager at CSW. “Kitchen islands are generally the largest pieces per square foot. The Donatoni “ Move System ,” is an innovative system of vacuum cups for handling cut to size pieces. Its use reduces downtime and increases productivity while minimizing material waste.”
The “Brains” of this system connects MiniCAD software to create shaping files to perform straight or concave and convex arc shapes with both vertical and horizontal blades. This allows all CAD programming to be uploaded to the machine’s central system and controls the rotating blade head to automatically router edges, sink cutouts, and/or back splash as needed for each individual job.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJDbKl7VdPE&w=560&h=315]
Photoslab, by means of a camera, automatically detects the measurements of the slab to be cut. The system allows us to speed up the positioning of the pieces, avoiding any defects and allowing cuts along the veins of the material.
Each and every cut slab is inspected and hand polished to ensure the accurate fit, finish, and best quality.
The management team at Canaan Stone Works continually researches and implements new technology, equipment and process to deliver the best quality countertops at a value. The investment in time, capital, and training are the foundation of CSW success.
