Your kitchen is one of the most-used room in your home. Between preparing and eating meals, prepping snacks and countless other tasks, your kitchen gets a lot of people-traffic. When an Overland Park, Kansas family decided their current kitchen was beginning to look it’s age, was to small, and just not working for the family anymore, they determined it was time for a kitchen remodel. The homeowners, after much research, decided Mission Kitchen & Bath was the team they would partner with to help them tackle the kitchen remodel.

The customer’s current kitchen was starting to age and was not as functional as the homeowners would have liked it to be. It was time for a custom kitchen remodel and Maddy Ferguson, designer with Mission Kitchen and Bath, was the one to help them do it.

MODERN CONVENIENCE
The homeowners had an older kitchen that they felt they could upgrade with modern features and appliances that they would truly love. Some features added during this kitchen remodel included a kitchen island, exhaust hood over expansive gas stove, and hammered copper farm sink.  The addition of the kitchen island is a fantastic multi-purpose space for preparing meals, eating, entertaining, and so much more.

NEW COUNTERTOPS
Kitchen countertops are a very important part of a kitchen. The current countertops in this home were done in the 70’s. The tile and grout were beginning to show age.  The homeowners wanted to add a center island and open the kitchen up to an adjacent living area. Their ideal kitchen would be open, bright and inviting. They wanted countertops that were durable, resilient, added value and looked amazing. They chose Silver Antico, a beautiful granite with movement in colors of white, soft grays and black. The design of this granite blended seamlessly with the rest of the design. Mission Kitchen and Bath chose to use the team at CSW to ensure the homeowners had quality options in choosing their slab and a countertop fabricator they could trust. CSW custom fabricated the stone and installed the final granite countertops. The homeowners were especially delighted with the fact that the countertops for this project were installed in one day.

FINISHING DECISIONS
Maddy Ferguson, designer at Mission Kitchen and Bath, understood a “cookie cutter” design wasn’t going to work for this unique floorplan and the wishes of the homeowners. These homeowners understood the benefits of a custom-designed kitchen. During the kitchen remodel process, Maddy worked closely with the homeowners to come up with the perfect kitchen redesign for their space and their lifestyle. “I was delighted to work on this kitchen remodel,” states Maddy. “Once we decided to remove a dividing wall between the kitchen and the sitting room to open the space and deliver more light, the project started to take shape.” Maddy worked with the homeowners to deliver all of their desires for an updated kitchen including additional storage solutions that really work for this family.
